He also underwent training at NIMHANS, Bangalore, in the management of traumatic brain injuries. A rank holder from the Mysore Medical College, Dr. Komal has a special interest in the quality of healthcare from his postgraduate days at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli and Senior Residency at the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry. He is an assessor for the National Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), Quality Council of India. He also holds with distinction, a postgraduate diploma in hospital and healthcare management (PGDHHM).
