Dr. Huilgol was part of the team that he did the first successful kidney transplant in Karnataka in 1983. He has extensive experience of over 1600 transplants. His special interests include transplanting kidneys with multiple arteries and with doulbe ureters. He has the credit of establishing Transplant program in Jalandhar, Punjab and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
He is the founder member of Vascular Society of India, Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India to name a few. He has also chaired sessions at many prestigious conferences. He has also been the organizing secretary and chairman of many national-level conferences.
Dr. Huilgol has published papers in Indian and International journals. He is an avid wildlife photographer, cricket commentator, amateur hypnotist and an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society. |

Dr. Ajit completed his MS in general surgery from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, from where he trained in transplant Surgery.
